Huihui Guan Yiyu
During the Ming dynasty, the Huihui Bureau within the Siyiguan and Huitongguan handled official Persian-language instruction and translation. Its Persian teaching materials survive in the Huayi Yiyu as the Huihui Guan Yiyu. Copies began reaching collections abroad through different channels in the late nineteenth century and are now held by many major libraries.
Chang Zhimei (c. 1610–1670), also known by the Islamic name محمد بن الحکیم الزینیمی and the courtesy name Yunhua, was an Islamic scholar and Jingtang educator. A specialist in Persian grammar, he compiled Hawayi Minhaj for his students; it later became an introductory Persian text in Jingtang education across China.
